Visions In Motion
(Formerly Tapestry, Too!)
Visions in Motion is Tapestry's Adult Student Company. Visions in Motion operates under the umbrella of Tapestry Dance Company's Co-Founders, Producing Artistic Director, Acia Gray, and Tapestry Educational Director, Deirdre Strand.
Visions in Motion explores the Tapestry philosophy through the rehearsal process and public performance. Members rehearse with guest and resident choreographers in the development of multi-form works ranging from ballet, modern, jazz and tap dance to body percussion.
REQUIREMENTS AND AUDITIONS
Dancers interested in Visions in Motion must be 18 years of age to audition for the company. Company members are required to take one tap class and one movement class per week within the TDC Academy. The movement class can be ballet, jazz, contemporary or modern. The company rehearses every other weekend on Fridays from 6:30-8pm and on Saturdays from 2-4pm. Additional rehearsals may be called at the director's discretion to prepare for performances. Visions in Motion concerts will be held in the spring and additional performance opportunities are also considered throughout the season.
Visions in Motion members are responsible for a $10 annual registration fee, the costs of Tapestry technique classes and $45 in monthly company dues which begin each September.
Open auditions for male and female dancers are held at the beginning of each September. Dancers who are enrolled in Tapestry’s adult academy technique classes are eligible and encouraged to audition. For further information, please contact Tapestry.
